InterTele 2015 April 23-26, 2015 Posted on Dec 30th, 2014
We welcome you to InterTele, the international telemark instructors’ meeting. Www.TelemarkSkier.com, our Media Sponsor, and 22Designs (look for www.twentytwodesigns.com), are proud supporters of the second happening for Telemark Instructors from around the world. Concurrently, the event will also overlap with the hugely successful PSIA/AASI National Academy at Snowbird, giving participants from both events a sense of what the other is about, and a chance to intermingle and network with instructors from across the USA, in addition to the telemark participants from the US and around the world.
Snowbird (http://www.snowbird.com) is an ideal setting for this event, with solid, predictable spring skiing. It is a special place for me, where I first tele’ed, had my first ski area job, where I skied my best tele race, and where I first made it onto our PSIA Nordic Team. Snowbird has long been the go-to place for our national team tryouts. With world class accommodations at a discounted rate, and ticket price included in the registration, the event will be quite a good deal, in addition to being unforgettable. With Snowbird’s average annual 482 inches (12.24 meters) of snowfall, phenomenal conditions are regular occurrences. In 2013 we were blessed with both sun and new snow, including a true powder day at Alta.
Please join us in sharing best practices and ideas, technical and teaching concepts, methods of instructor training and development, the evolution of equipment, and the future of the sport.
You will make InterTele the leading international event for Telemark instructors. Please join us this April in Utah, for the best days of our lives!

CANSI Instructor's Manual - 2013 edition Posted on Nov 13th, 2014
CANSI is pleased to announce that the newest edition of Teaching Nordic Skiing - Instructor’s Manual is now available on cansi.ca. This 2013 edition presents changes to the skating techniques having the skier project the body in the direction of travel rather than the direction of the ski, and changes to double poling and one-step double pole having the skier incorporate some leg action to obtain more propulsion. These changes are highlighted in grey in this version of the manual. Thanks to Ken Schykulski, Marie-Cat Bruno, Guy Lavoie, Larry White, and Joad Clement for their help in creating this new version of the manual. Members can download this 2013 edition or order a hard copy on-line from the Members Area.
